Crappy Day!

I'm just not feeling very good today, and feeling how I usually feel before "she" comes! I want to be positive, but dang it is hard! I also go to thinking that next weekend is Mother's Day again. I honestly have to say, out of every other day of the year, it is the hardest for me. Ok, I'm done for the night. Time to watch my shows and hit the hay. I will try to be in a better mood tomorrow. =(

Now the wait begins....

TTC Pictures, Images and PhotosWe went yesterday morning for our IUI. We had to be at the lab at 10:00 for David's appointment first. I went back with David this time while he collected his "sample". The lady took us back to the room with the usual plastic covered couch, and high quality reading materials and videos, and asked us if we had any questions, after we told her now, she said, please lock the door! LOL I'm not sure what she thought we were going to do in there, but it gave me a little bit of a chuckle.

In between appointments we had over an hour to kill so we went and did a little shopping at the mall behind the office. I really wanted to go and check out the Motherhood Maternity store, but didn't want to jinx myself so we went to Lane Bryant and Old Navy instead. Then we went back to the lab to pick up our specimen and headed for the doctor's office.

While we were in the waiting area, I was reading the results from David's specimen. Pre-wash it said his count was 110 million, and post was 375 million with a motility of 95%. The doctor told him that he got an A+ for the day and I told him he had some super swimmers, so hopefully at least one of them can find their way! I had the insemination done then he asked me to rest for about 10 minutes before we left.

So from this point, we just see what happens and wait.... The doctor said if there is no luck this time, we can try to shots and IUI one more time before discussing IVF. He again brought up the issue of IVF and my weight, but we will just wait and see what happens!

It will be a few weeks before we know anything so I will try to keep posting. Wish us luck!

What the heck??????

So we went to the doctor for bloodwork and our first follie check to see how things were going. The doctor had two students with him today, which was definitley a little different. He said that the lining of my uterus look great and then moved on to my ovaries. He checked the right ovary first. There were already two mature follices on that side, and then he checked the left ovary and there was also one on the left side that was ready to to. He said that I need to go straight home to take my trigger shot ASAP and come back in the morning for my insemination. I have to say that I was shocked, I wasn't planning on doing this until the end of next week or next weekend. He said that he would give us a moment to discuss what we wanted to do and then to let him know. The first thing I did was call my boss because I am supposed to work in the morning. I feel bad because I had picked up tomorrow so that one of my co-workers could walk in the March of Dimes walk. I got ahold of my boss and she was great as usual. She said that she would see if she could find someone to cover for me. I told her if not, then we would just skip it, and she said that she didn't want for me to have to do that. One of the other girls I work with is going to work with me so that I can go to my appointment and for that I can't even begin to say how grateful I am for the two of them helping me out! So now we go back to the doctor in the morning to get the ball rolling. Everyone asks how long it will be before we know anything. Unfortunatly, after tomorrow, we will begine the dreaded 2ww (2 week wait)! For me, it seems to be the longest part of the whole cycle! So from there, we can only hope that things happen the way that they are supposed to and see what happens. As most of you know, I am a pessimist when it comes to this situation, and I can honestly tell you that I want to be excited, but I just know that if I get my hopes up, and things don't work out, it breaks my heart! I will try to think positive, but that is all I can promise for now!

Thanks for everyone's support! Have a great weekend!

The drugs are getting to my brain....

So...last night I had a dream that I was admitted to the hospital for abdominal pain. What was really weird, is that one of my friends was also admitted and sharing the same room with me at the hospital. So while I was at the hospital, my OBGYN came to see me and decided to do an ultrasound to see what was going on. So he is doing the ultrasound and I can see my ovaries and such on the screen, and then the next thing I know, there is a little person on the screen waving at me! The doctor says "huh, there's a baby in there, we better get you down to OB." So I get moved to OB, and deliver a healthy baby girl, who we named Hope.

So to anwer your question....YES, I have lost my mind! The weird thing about the dream was that I named my little girl Hope, and I have been wearing a necklace with a charm on it that says "hope".

Back to the doctor again in the morning for another scan and bloodwork. We will see where things go from there!

Have a good weekend! :)

No one can forsee what destiny holds in store....

We got the green light yesterday to start treatment again. I have decided that this is our final injectible/IUI cycle. If this doesn't work, the next appointment we will have will be our IVF consult to determine, if and when we are able to pursue IVF. The question also being if we are able to get financing for the procedure, because as usual, our insurance doesn't cover any of the treatments.

This cycle they are having me do a combination of Femara and Follistim. I am usually just on the Follistim so I am curious to know how I will react to the different medications. I will take the Femara days 3-7 and will giving myself shots again for 150 units of Follistim starting Tuesday night. Hopefully I can keep it all straight.

I go back to the doctor on Friday morning for bloodwork and another scan so now we just have to wait and see what happens. I will update as I have more details. Hope everyone has a good week!
