Double digits...10 weeks

I am happy to say that I have made it to the 10 week mark!  A couple more weeks and I will have the first trimester down!  This week I have still been working on recovering from this cold I have. I'm definitely feeling better than I was last week though.

I have a baby shower to attend this weekend and we might start browsing at some things we like.  At this point, we still haven't started buying anything for the baby, but hopefully we will be able to start purchasing some things in the next few weeks.

Another small set back...

I received a call today from the doctor's office with some of my test results.  My labs showed that I am a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis.  David has now been screened and we just wait to see if he is a carrier as well or not.  If he is not a carrier, we do nothing else.  If he is a carrier, then they will refer us for genetic counseling.  Please keep us in your prayers that we get good results!

9 weeks

So my 9 week post has been delayed this week courtesy of the lovely cold I have.  It started last Sunday, and today is the first day I am finally starting to feel half way human again.  If anyone has been wondering about me, I'm still kicking, just been sleeping LOTS this week and trying to feel better!

Not much new to report this week with Baby E.  I want to enjoy each day of my pregnancy, but at the same time, I am looking forward to getting the first trimester under my belt...only a few more weeks.

Okay, hopefully I will have a little bit more to blog about next week! :)

8 Weeks

Meet Baby E!

I had another appointment Tuesday and we hadn't intended for me to have another u/s, but I had some spotting over the weekend.  At my appointment I just had a normal exam, and just asked questions like usual, but I explained that I had been having some spotting for a few days and he said he would do an u/s if I didn't mind waiting.  We waited a little while until the room was available then went in. The doctor came in a few minutes later and started the scan.  He said it is basically a glorified kidney bean right now, but it had a good heartbeat.  The doctor then turned the sound on and we were able to hear our baby's heart beating for the first time.  I think this is the point when it finally became real to me that there really is something growing inside me.  Most days I'm still in denial big time. I still can't believe that this happened and that I am actually pregnant.  The doctor did mention that the bright spot on the u/s was the baby's yolk sac and that it didn't have a really big head! :)  It was also discovered that I currently have placenta previa and that the placenta is in front of the cervix instead of in the back where it should be.  He said for the time being he was not too concerned since I was still earlier enough that it could move back as it grew, but if it is something that was unresolved in my pregnancy, I would have to have a c-section.  Other than that I had to have load of lab work drawn and then I headed back to work.  At this point, I will go back in the beginning of March as long as all goes well.  I really find myself getting caught up in my fears a lot, and I know that it's not good for me and the baby, so I am really trying to focus on learning to relax a little better.  It's not always easy, but all I can do is try!

My New Best Friends...

OK, so not just specifically these crackers, but Goldfish crackers, pretzels, etc. are my new best friends.  Yes, that's right, the nausea has increased this week!  Luckily, I've not been vomiting, just nauseous and smells get to me a lot more easily.  Other than that, not too much to report this week.  We had a lovely ice/snow storm this week and I almost fell a couple times. Basically, I'm walking around like an old granny to make sure I don't end up on the ground! :)  We will be going back to the doctor Wednesday with the hopes of possibly hearing our little peanut's heartbeat.  It is possible that it's still too early, but I can hope right?
