1 Month Already!!

It is hard to believe that a month ago, K arrived.  Everyone told me that time would go fast, and boy were they right.  We have survived our first month of being a family of three and it has had it's ups and downs.  Some days it just doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Clothes:K is still wearing her newborn clothes. We weren't prepared for her to be a small baby, so we had to go out and get her some more clothes.  We have a pretty good amount of 0-3 clothing and we know that it will just be a matter of time before she is wearing them and we are putting the newborn stuff away.  I think we have purchased our last pack of newborn diapers as they are starting to leave a little bit of a mark...up next size 1's!

Feedings: When we came home from the hospital, K was taking 1 to 1 1/2 ounce feedings. At this point she is taking 3 ounces the majority of the time.  A lot of times it is a challenge to keep her awake long enough to feed her, so sometimes we have to strip her down in order to keep her awake.  When she is hungry though...watch out.  She shakes her head like crazy and will try to suck on her hands, your fingers and your cheeks.  You try to put the bottle in her mouth and she immediately put her hands up to her mouth and sometimes acts like she wants to try to hold her bottle.  She doesn't spit up very often unless she doesn't burp.
Sleep:  I hate to jinx myself, but sleeping has definitely improved! The first night we were home from the hospital was exhausting.  We were up most of the night with her as she was not a happy camper.  From there she got a little better day by day, but we really struggled from 11pm to 2am for a few weeks.  I started sleeping in the living room with her because D went back to work and I wanted him to be able to get some sleep. K and I spent many nights watching the new, Letterman, and all the other night talk shows. The past couple of nights she has even slept through the night which was nice, but also had me a little concerned that she wasn't getting up to eat. I guess ultimately as long as she doesn't seem hungry and keeps growing, that is the important part!

Activities:For the first few weeks the majority of her time was spent eating and sleeping, but she is starting to have more wakeful time during the day and is starting to play more.  One of our friends got us a gift card to Meijer, so K and I went shopping last week and picked her up a little play mat to use.  We have clipped some additional toys to it and she loves to hear the music on one of the chimes!

Likes: K loves to be held, and what baby wouldn't! She loves to be talked to and seems to like music too!  At first she wasn't too crazy about baths, but now she really seems to be enjoying them!  For the most part, she is a pretty happy baby!
Dislikes: The only thing that we have found so far that K doesn't like is to have a wet diaper.  It makes no sense to me because she could care less when she is poopy, but she hates to be wet!

Personality: Every day she develops a little more of a personality. She is a little on the stubborn side which she came by honestly from her Dad and I. She does things on her terms!  She also is quite silly at times and some times we swear that she is rolling her eyes at us already when we talk to her. :)  All in all, she is a very happy baby and we are so glad to have her in our lives.

Now that she is starting to spend a little more time awake during the day, I will try to post some more pictures.

Until next time!
